Block paving failure may occur for a number of reasons, but often settlement or subsidence of the substrate layers is to blame, resulting from the wrong type base material or insufficient base material. The bedding layer can fail due to water ingress. The integrity of the blocks can loosen due to failure of restraining edges, loss of jointing material or loads greater than the driveway or patio was designed to carry.

Loose or shifting paving may need to be re-bedded. After careful diagnosis we take up only as much of the pavement area as required to make a successful repair. The exposed bedding layer is properly prepared ready for replacing the paving. The newly repaired area is resealed with dry jointing sand or mortar joints and mechanically compacted to achieve a 'like new' appearance.
